Basic Orange 31 is incorporated in non-oxidative hair dye formulations at a maximum concentration of 1.0%, and in oxidative hair dye formulations at a maximum final concentration of 0.5%, after mixing with the oxidative agent. It is a moderate skin sensitiser.
