Uses

  • It is used to treat and prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, in conjunction with calcium and vitamin D supplements, at a dosage of 60 mg per day.
  • It is also used to reduce the chance of developing invasive breast cancer (breast cancer that has progressed beyond the milk ducts or lobules into the surrounding breast tissue) in postmenopausal women at high risk of developing this type of cancer or with osteoporosis.
